HOLLYWOOD superstar Will Ferrell is seeking help from Merseysiders as he looks to find somewhere to stay for next year's Eurovision Song Contest.

The Anchorman actor is currently doing the promotional rounds for his new film Spirited and took time to speak to DJ Zoe Ball during her Radio 2 breakfast show this morning (Tuesday, November 15).

As well as talking about his new Christmas musical, which also stars Ryan Reynolds, the Elf star spoke about his 2020 movie Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga in which he played Icelandic singer Lars Erickssong.

Liverpool will host the song contest next year on behalf of Ukraine, having beaten the likes of Leeds and Newcastle to stage the event - and Ferrell is eager to join the party.

“You know my mother really wants me to take her to Eurovision, she’s dying to go and she’s always wanted to go to Liverpool," he told listeners. “But aren’t the hotels all booked now?”

Prices have shot up at Airbnbs and other accommodation venues across Merseyside, including St Helens, as it is only a short journey over to Liverpool.

The situation prompted Zoe to ask if anyone is willing to put up Will and his mum in Liverpool or the Liverpool area during Eurovision.

Will added: "We need a clean, tidy room. We’ll share a room - two bunk beds that’s all we need. I know we’re kidding but my mom would love that, she’d be thrilled."
