A 56-YEAR-OLD who died suddenly was given a "very personal" and "special" send-off last week.
Friends, family, bikers, and pets lined the streets for Mally Grant's funeral procession on Friday, April 22.
Mally, a cleaner and former bodybuilder from Clock Face, died suddenly in March from a Pulmonary Embolism in his lung.
The dad-of-three - who also looked after his partner's five children - is described as a "really good guy" who was "loved and adored by everyone he met".
Cars and motorbikes were Mally's "pride and joy" and he had been involved in numerous charity bike rides in St Helens.
He had also previously joked to "bury me with my motorbike".
Answering a family appeal, St Helens Bikers group made sure he got the send-off that he would have wanted and followed the hearse and funeral procession to Green Acres Cemetery in Rainford.
His German Shepherd Blaze, described as his "best friend [and] part of the family", initially led the procession and then rode in the hearse that carried Mally.
Mally's sudden death has come as a "major shock" for his family and partner Melanie, who has recently discovered that she has been diagnosed with cancer.
Melanie, Mally's partner of 12 years, said: "Mally was very loved - I wish he could see just how loved he was.
"He was a really good guy and would go above and beyond for anyone - he would always help anyone with anything.
"The funeral was true to his personality. It was so special, personal, and very emotional."
Mally's family has set up a fundraiser to help them during this difficult time. To donate, visit this link
