A MUM-of-three is holding a summertime masked ball to raise funds to host free dance classes for people with mental health issues.

After overcoming her own issues with mental health through dance, 38-year-old Mandy Cobane from Sutton decided to set up Simply Dance - a social enterprise aimed at offering dance lessons to others suffering with mental health problems.

The classes will be taught be her daughter Elizabeth, 19 who is a trained dancer at Xercise4less in St Helens.

To afford to offer this service the family are hosting a summertime masked ball at the Masonic Hall on Hall Street on Saturday, July 21 at 6pm.

Mandy said: "I have been in and out of hospital many time for treatment, fortunately I have now full recovered and am back to my own self.

"Both of my daughters have also had issues with mental health, and dance has been an enormous form of therapy for both of them to overcome their different issues including eating disorders and depression.

"Elizabeth says that when she is dancing, she feel like nothing else matters.

"Mental health is a big problem in our local area and beyond and we strongly believe we can hep children and young adults.

"We have all been in a dark place and personally experienced the devastating effects these issues can bring to a young person's life.

"So we need to raise as much as we can so these classes can be free to those most in need."

Tickets cost £20 each, including a three course meal, performances from dancers, including Elizabeth's choreography.
