A GROUP of people reportedly threw glasses and bottles at each other at a pub after England's World Cup semi-final defeat against Croatia last night, Wednesday.

Police were called to the Gerard Arms pub in Dentons Green at around 9.40pm after a number of customers became involved in a disturbance.

The Dentons Green Lane pub shut early for safety reasons as staff waited for officers arrive.

Police say no reports of assault were made and no-one was hurt in the incident.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

A spokesman for pub said: "The whole of yesterday was spent with the local council, local police, local fire safety, a Greene King risk assessment manager and a professional security team who all agreed to the pubs plans.

"What we cannot plan for though is one case of sporadic mindless thuggery.

"Unfortunately a fight broke out as England were knocked out and we immediately closed the bar, and we tried our best to contain the incident.

"All offenders from last night's one incident will be tracked down and barred for life from The Gerard Arms.

"Bar the small group who ruined it for us all, thank you again to all who attended and supported your country in great style over the last few weeks- you really have been amazing.

"Unfortunately, and sadly though, it's now 'not coming home'."
