POLICE have warned drivers they will face fines if they continue to cross pedestrianised areas.
It follows a number of complaints about vehicles being driven down the Market Street pedestrian area in Newton-le-Willows.
Police say they have spoken to a number of motorists about the issue today.
A police statement read: "Advisory notices were given, however, fixed penalty notices will be issued to any drivers continuing to drive through the pedestrian area between the hours of 10am and 4pm.
"Thank you for your co-operation in this matter."
