NUMEROUS properties in Newton-le-Willows have been broken into during the early hours of the morning, say police.
Officers issued an alert to residents after receiving reports of the burglaries.
Police in St Helens had issued a warning over a spike of daytime break-ins in Windle earlier this week.
In a statement, St Helens Police said: "We have been made aware of a number of burglaries in the Newton-le-Willows area.
"These incidents have occurred in the early hours of the morning.
"Please be extra vigilant.
"Remember to lock your doors with the key."
