AN AWARD-WINNING family-run cafe has been shortlisted for another gong - with the owners to rub shoulders with the likes of Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal.
Brunch, on Greenes Road, Whiston, have already had the honour of being crowned the best in the north west for the third year running at the British Takeaway Awards ceremony at the Savoy in November.
And the owners will be attending another glamorous ceremony after the premises were nominated for Best British Takeaway in the Best British Restaurant Awards 2018.
Among the nominees for prizes on the night are celebrity chefs Marcus Wareing, Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver and Heston Blumenthal.
The ceremony is to be held at the Porchester in London on Thursday, May 24.
After being nominated, Brunch owner Sharon Carline said: "We are currently totally in shock as today was the first time we have heard about the awards.
"Thrilled is an understatement, especially (as) we are the only breakfast takeaway nominated.
"It makes me feel so proud of Brunch and my team, that people appreciate and enjoy what we do."
