THIS video shows the future plans for the multi-million pound Shakespeare North Playhouse in Prescot.

Work will soon star on the new theatre, with an earmarked completion date of April 2020 to coincide with William Shakespeare's birthday. The theatre will open to guests and students later that year.

The venue will also include an education and exhibition centre, which will be a major visitor attraction and the first of its kind in the region.

Once completed, the Shakespeare North Playhouse is expected to create 19 jobs and 203 off site permanent posts while bringing £5.3m to the Liverpool City Region and attracting approximately 111,000 visitors per year.

Cllr Andy Moorhead, leader of Knowsley Council said: “I am proud to lead this council in bringing such rich cultural and educational experiences to our residents and the wider community.

"It is a really exciting time for Prescot, Knowsley and the Liverpool City Region."
