POLICE were alerted following a spate of burglaries in Moss Bank on Tuesday in which bricks were used to gain entry to properties.
Officers received three reports of daytime break-ins in the area.
St Helens Police said: "The offenders have used a brick to gain entry and smash rear windows and doors to steal property.
"Please make sure that you lock all windows and doors and alarm your house.
"Opportunists often use what is lying around in the garden in order to force entry so secure any implements or blunt objects from your garden."
