TWO men who were arrested in connection with a disturbance in Thatto Heath in which participants were armed with knives have been released under investigation.
At around 8.20am on Sunday (March 4) response police officers were called to Kimberley Avenue after reports of a disturbance.
It is believed that two men, armed with knives, were fighting each other.
Police said no-one was seriously injured during the incident.
Officers who attended the scene recovered two knives.
A 19-year-old man and a 21-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed article and taken in for questioning.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "Both men –aged 19 and 21 - arrested following the incident on Kimberley Avenue have been released under investigation."
