PLANS to create three residential homes on the grounds of Rocklands House in Rainhill have been given the go-ahead.

The proposals for the site on View Road include the demolition of the existing single-storey chalets and proposed reduction of existing site levels.

One four-bedroom and two three-bedroom detached houses, with garages and driveway parking, are to be created.

Rocklands was formerly a hotel and is now used as offices.

Planning permission has been granted to turn Rock House into eight apartments.

Plans had received two letters of objection and Rainhill Parish Council had also expressed concern over how the "character of View Road" would be affected and the loss of a copper beech tree.

St Helens Council gave the planning application the nod.
