Rebecca Cunliffe, Adam’s girlfriend of five years who he was planning to make his fiancée, spoke of their relationship and shared memories of their life.
Rebecca said: “Adam meant a lot of things to a lot of different people. But to me and Judy (their dog) he was our whole life.
“Thinking of Adam makes me think of the walks we enjoyed together and him drinking whisky by the fire and his beaming smile that always lit up the room.

“We had just started building our lives together and it would’ve been a good one.
“We were very happy and when Judy came along our little family was complete.
“Adam did everything he could to look after me and Judy. He cooked, he cleaned and he did the shopping. And, as the girls who helped him from Tesco (where he worked) know, he brought all my make up
“He was a gentleman and he loved us and told us he loved us every day, Judy more than me.
“He never left the house without kissing us goodbye again. I just hope he knew that we felt the same way about him.
“We talked a lot about what the future could hold, about getting married, extending the house and even what Judy would look like when she got old and grey.
“As hard as this is I am still happy that we had the time we had together and all the things we did.
“No amount of time can erase his memory.
“I’m not ready to say goodbye and I will never be so all I want to say to Adam – and I hope that he is listening – is thank you.
“Thank you for Judy, thank you for choosing me and thank you for our life together.
“It wasn’t perfect, but it was ours and I would do it all over again if I had the chance.”
