St Helens Star:

A 33-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, both from Haydock, who were arrested on suspicion of murder, remain in custody.

An investigation into his death is ongoing.

His body was found after police received ‘reports of concern’ at around 12.15am on Sunday, January 21.

Concerned neighbours spoke of their shock: “Last night we heard a lot of slammed doors and raised voices around 1am.

“Not to the point of a fight but like there was a get together or something.”

Residents added that a number of parties had taken place at the property.

But one neighbour added “never In my life would I have thought” something so shocking would happen.

The neighbour continued: “This area has gone down hill really.

“I just hope they find out what’s happened.”

A cordon has been put in place at the property to allow for forensic examinations to take place, with officers currently in the area carrying out house-to-house enquiries.
