Dispersal order for town centre
POLICE will use powers to tackle anti-social behaviour over the weekend.
A dispersal order has been authorised from Friday until 2am on Sunday.
Large groups of youths have been gathering on town centre streets on Friday and Saturday evenings.
A police spokesman said: “This is due to continuing anti-social behaviour over the weekend periods.”
The order gives police powers to move on groups causing trouble.
Polive have issued dispersal orders several times in recent months.
The area is bound by: Tolver Street, Birchley Street, Corporation Street, Duke Street, Lowe Street, King Street, A58 Link Way West, A58 Link Way East, Parr Street, Shaw Street.
