A TOWN centre menswear store is to close its doors - just months after it being saved as the retailer was bought out of administration.

Greenwoods, on Bridge Street, has placed signs on its windows announcing the upcoming closure.

The Bridge Street shop had been among 40 Greenwoods stores which had been saved last October.

The Yorkshire-based menswear chain had gone into administration before it was bought by Versatile International Trading Limited.

The St Helens shop will close its doors on Friday, January 19, the Star understands.

A spokesperson for the shop confirmed its upcoming closure.

The Star has contacted Greenwoods head office for comment on reasons behind the closure.
