CCTV images have been released of a man and a woman who may have witnessed the murder of Adam Ellison.

They were in the Old Mill Public House, Mill Street, Prescot, until about 12.45am on Saturday, November 4.

Officers believe they may have information which could assist with the investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector John Middleton said: “We have been investigating a number of lines of enquiry in relation to the events of that evening.

“As part of the investigation we have issued CCTV images of two people – a male and a female – who were in the Old Mill Public House that night who we are keen to speak to.

“I would ask the two people – or anyone who recognises them – to come forward as we believe they may information which could be vital to the investigation."

Adam was walking along a pedestrianised area in Market Place, Prescot, with friends when he became involved in an argument with people on a motorbike.

During the incident he was stabbed in the neck with an unknown weapon.

He was taken to hospital for surgery but passed away that morning.

DCI Middleton added: “Any bit of information may prove to be vital to helping us get answers to what happened on that night and help Adam’s family.”

His mum Joyce Ellison, 66 added: “It’s been devastating for us as a family and it’s left a big hole in our lives.

“I would ask for anyone who may know something to look into their hearts and think that this could happen to someone else.

“If they know this person, or the people, who were on that bike that night then please give them up, it can be anonymous, but we don’t want anyone to go through what we have.

“It has torn us apart. Our lives will never be the same again.

“This can’t ever happen again to somebody else, we don’t want anyone having to feel what we feel.”
