RESIDENTS and businesses in Haydock were left without electricity for 12 hours as engineers dealt with a power cut.
Electricity North West restored power in the area at 10.45pm after being called to deal with the issue at around 10.40am.
In total 664 properties were affected, with the Tesco store, schools and Heyeswood area among those affected.
An Electrivity NW spokesowman said: "It happened at 10.39am. We think it's fault in the overhead power lines in the area."
Initially, engineers were aiming for a 4.30pm restoration of power in the area.
However, power was eventually restored at 10.45pm.
#HAYDOCK #STHELENS #WA11 Thank you so much for your patience today. Works are in the final stages to fix the #powercut and engineers are confident with the restoration time of before 10:45pm. Sorry again. - Johnny

An "underground cable fault" which has caused problems in some homes around Station Road was connected to the incident.
