ENGLAND boss Wayne Bennett praised the contribution of debutant Alex Walmsley - the only Saint on duty - in the 29-10 World Cup win over Lebanon.
Walmsley, who would have playes last week but for a virus, came off the bench and worked well in his bursts.
"I like what Alex brought tonight," Bennett said.
"I thought him and Tom (Burgess) when they came on were very good.
He explained the absence of the other two Saints - James Roby and Jonny Lomax - who were due to play.
One through injury, the other through rotation.
"Jonny Lomax hurt his calf muscle at training early in the week," Bennett said.
"He'll probably miss next week's game against France but he should be back after that (for the quarter finals).
"I left James out because I wanted to give George Williams a game.
" I've got 24 players here and I'm trying to get them all a game before the quarter-finals if I can."
