SAINTS fans are supporting a fundraiser in aid of a fireman and amateur rugby league player who is fighting for his life after he suffered mutliple injuries while on his stag do in Magaluf.

Alex Green is in an induced coma in intensive care after undergoing surgery in a hospital in Majorca.

The 26-year-old dad-of-one was found with serious injuries on Friday, six hours after arriving at the Spanish party resort.

He had a bleed on the brain, fractured eye sockets, cheeks and nose and a collapsed lung.

A JustGiving page has been set up to raise funds for his hospital treatment.

The page states that his travel insurance policy will not cover the treatment costs due to him having alcohol in his system when he suffered his injuries.

It adds: “He is in a stable condition but has not quite pulled through yet and these next few days are crucial for him.

“All donations are simply to cover the cost of his care and see him return home safely to his adored son Zach.

“Any amount of donation would be greatly appreciated and we will be forever grateful of.

“He is surrounded by family and friends who love him and pray he pulls through this in the best way possible.

“Please say a prayer for him too.”

His fiancée Rebecca Thorpe is among those keeping vigil at his hospital bedside.

There were around 25 family members and friends on the stag do.

Alex is a former Golborne High School pupil who has played for Golborne Parkside Amateur Rugby League Football Club.

He now lives in Rochdale.

More than £17,500 has been raised so far via the JustGiving page.

Saints' supporters site RedVee.Net shared the appeal on Twitter as fans got behind the fundraiser for Alex.
