A STUDENT who lost her dad at the age of six is holding a fashion show in aid of a child bereavement charity.

Lauren Duffy, from Rainhill, will hold the fashion show next Thursday, May 25, in aid of Child Bereavement UK, which supports families when a child dies or when a youngster is bereaved.

The 20-year-old’s dad Chris died after a hit and run when she was only six.

Aspiring TV and radio presenter Lauren, said: “The charity is really close to my heart.

“I believe strongly that if charities like this were around like this when I was younger, I feel like I would have had a bit more support.

“The work Child Bereavement UK does is absolutely fantastic.

“My mum is a counsellor who works for Child Bereavement UK so I came across their work through her and started volunteering there."

Lauren, a first year broadcast production and presenting student at the University of Chester's Padgate campus in Warrington, added: “I really want to give back and that’s why I got involved with fundraising for Child Bereavement UK.

“This charity does amazing work and the support they give is fantastic.”

The fashion show at the Warrington campus’ Bar Twenty10 kicks off at 7.30pm, with doors open from 6.45pm.

Tickets are £5 including a glass of Prosecco on arrival.

Refreshments will also be available on the day while a raffle will also be held in aid of Child Bereavement UK.
