POLICE are hunting for a man after a six-year-old boy was hit over the head on a bus.

Becky Eddleston, from Parr, boarded the 31 bus in St Helens with her children, Alfie, six and Caitlin, two, at around 8pm on February 22 after a party at a friend’s house.

The 24-year-old mum said her son began to “have a meltdown” on the bus as he was tired.

Becky said two men, who she described as “stinking of alcohol,” then got on the bus and said: “You should put a bag over his head and drown him in the canal,” before one of them allegedly hit him over the back of the head.

Becky added: “I was just absolutely fuming when that man felt like he could hit my son, if I had not had both children with me, especially my baby girl, I would have done something."

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.
