A 16-YEAR-OLD girl is in hospital and another has been arrested after police were called to reports of a stabbing at a park.
Officers were called to Boundary Road, St Helens, at 1am on Saturday after reports of a fight between a group near Queens Park Leisure Centre.
A 16-year-old girl received an injury to her body and was taken to hospital for treatment. Police say the wound was "consistent with a knife being used".
Her injury is not believed to be life threatening.
Another 16-year-old girl has also been arrested on suspicion of wounding and has been released pending a disposal decision.
An investigation is underway, CCTV enquiries have been carried out in the area and a number of witnesses have been spoken to.
