POLICE are urging residents to be vigilant after reports of men falsely posing as leaflet distributors.
The men have been described as wearing blue 'high visibility' jackets and have been using the disguise to look into people's properties.
A police alert said: "St Helens Local Policing Team have received a report of suspicious males posing as leaflet distributers in the St Helens borough.
"They are described as males wearing blue high visibility jackets and are using this tactic to look into your properties.
"If you are at home and see such activity occurring please call the Police on 101 or 999 if it is an emergency.
"If you are leaving your property please close curtains/blinds to prevent these people looking into your homes. Keep your doors and windows locked with the key".
