A MAN has been charged with robbery after staff at a Bargain Booze off-licence were threatened with a hammer and money was stolen.
Terry Hathaway, 36 from Middlemass Hey in Stockbridge Village has been charged with robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a controlled drug after the incident at Bargain Booze in Lugsmore Lane, Thatto Heath.
Police were called at around 9.55pm on Friday, January 13 following reports that a man entered the shop, threatened staff and took money.
He was detained a short time later by members of the community and arrested by police.
Hathaway has been kept in custody and will appear for trial at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, February 13.
