POLICE were called to reports of a man having being assaulted on Higher Parr Street yesterday afternoon.
Officers cordoned off an area of the Fingerpost street yesterday afternoon.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We attended a call at 12.30pm on Higher Parr Street to reports of a man having been assaulted.
"He received head injuries and was making his own way to hospital to get it treated."
Police say the man's injuries were not serious and included bruising and a cut to his head.
