TWO masked men, who are believed to be armed, entered a One Stop shop and demanded cash from a shop assistant.

Detectives are appealing for information following the attempted robbery at the store on Walmsley Road, Eccleston.

At 8.45pm on Sunday, July 10 the two men entered the One Stop shop.

They fled empty-handed.

One of them is described as white, around 5ft 10 tall, of medium build. He spoke with a local accent and was wearing a jacket and dark coloured trousers.

The second was white, around 5ft tall, of slim build and also spoke with a local accent.

He was wearing a Nike Air jacket and dark coloured trousers. Both men were wearing balaclavas.

It is believed the men may have been armed. No-one was injured in the incident but staff members and customers were left shaken up by their ordeal.

It is believed the males left the scene in a white Volkswagen Golf which had rear tinted windows.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Walmsley Road or the nearby shopping parade either before or at the time of the incident who may have information which could assist with their enquiries.
