SUMMER is here and while the weather might not always reflect this, there is plenty to do whether you want to get active, learn something, be entertained or meet new people.

Here are some of the family-friendly events happening across St Helens this week (starting July 18):

1. Summer Beach launch: July 22 until September 3, Church Square. Free.

Summer Beach kicks off with a character appearance from Peppa Pig. Runs until 3 September.

2. Taylor Park Festival: July 24. Free entry.

Family fun day with games, stalls, children's entertainer, fairground, barbecue, face painting and climbing wall.

3. Wildflower Walk, Duckeries: July 20, 1.30pm.

4. Sing Out Choir, Victoria Park: July 24, 2-4pm.

5. Summer Sunshine Party, Eccleston Library: July 21, 10.30am.

Crafts, stories, rhymes and singing.

6. Junior Reading Group, Chester Lane Library: July 23, 11am.

7. Summer Sports Camps, Sutton Leisure Centre, starting July 25, £10 per day.
