AS the sun slipped beneath the horizon on the longest day of the year, one reader captured beautifully a rare astronomical treat.
Photographer Rob Bob captured this footage of a Strawberry Moon at 9.47pm behind Parrstocks Road Fire Station.
It was the first time a Strawberry Moon had coincided with Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, for first time since 1967.
The label comes from the Algonquin tribes of North America who believed June’s full moon signalled the beginning of the strawberry picking season.
