RESIDENTS are being asked to complete a survey on crime and anti-social behaviour in St Helens.

The council - together with Merseyside Police and other local agencies which form the Community Safety Partnership - would like to know how well people think the authorities are doing in tackling crime and how safe residents feel.

The nine-question survey also asks for views on the council's CCTV service - which currently has more than 100 CCTV cameras across the borough operating 24 hours a day.

St Helens Council's cabinet member for community safety, Councillor Lisa Preston, said: "We would like to know what the public thinks we should be prioritising and how we can further improve in order to significantly reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.

"That's why we're encouraging as many people as possible to complete the survey.

"We value all feedback and will use it to determine policies and actions to help fight crime."

Surveys can be completed online via sthelens.gov.uk at or forms can be picked up from the contact centre in Wesley House.
