Hiya all you out there. Well this weekend I went to see some Monkeys, a couple of cheeters, and lots of other animals.

No im not talking about Saints v Salford just yet, but im talking about knowsley safari park. Any way more about that later.

Friday saw me and Sharon, and our 2 lads Shaun and Matt, set off at 2 from Newcastle, with a car packed to the rafters with tents, food, clothing and computer games etc etc for our overnight stop in Warrington, at Hollybank camping site.

A tedious 4 hour journey was had after crash upon crash happened on the A1, the M62 and even the B road to the site. So it was like a speeded up Benny hill film watching us get there after 6 and set up 2 tents and blow up airbeds and sort everything out in half an hour record time. No rest and we were on our way to the game, via the black bull where I managed to say a quick hi to all the lads and lasses who I normally stand and drink with. Cheers to Hartlepool Saint who bought us the spare kids ticket Then before you could say " we're going to beat Warrington again next week " we were in the ground. To say the team looked more like the St Helens youth club would be an under estimation to say the least, as no fewer than 6 of our previous academy side took the field, so I knew it would be a leveller. But these aren't ordinary kids are they? Oh no they are " Super Saints Kids ", same mentality when staring defeat in the face, of never ever give up, and the excellent Matty Smith gave us the last minute win. What a great game, and also atmosphere to go with it. Not good for weak hearts though!!!

Back to the tents via the Chinese and 20 minutes later we were out for the count, as a busy day finally took its toll. Up the next day, packed up, bit of brunch at the tesco, and then off to the safari park, which was great stuff.

Highlights include Sharons car on the verge of being tore apart from the monkeys ( saints first half performance was like chimps )., as it took a liking to her windscreen wipers and wanted to rip it off before it lost interest (see pic ). Matt squealing on like a kid on his first xmas ( or like me when Saints score anytime ), Shauns disappearing act under a blanket when the camel came to the window, as last time he was there it spat on him. Me thinking there was a prehistoric bird in the sky, but mostly to Sharon, for 1. the look of horror on her face as the baboon picked up her wipers..2 same look when the emu decided to stick its head in the car for a hula hoop, and 3.. for discovering a "BLACK RHINO" that she had never saw before, which transpired to be the symbol painted onto the entrance gateyou had to be there you really did.. back home and the end of a 1st class weekend
