A CONVICTED burglar, with links to Rainford, who has breached the conditions of his release from prison is being hunted by police.

James Anthony Boffey was jailed in October 2011 for almost six years, after taking part in numerous burglaries with the Bridge family during their reign of terror in 2009 when they raided homes in affluent parts of Cheshire.

Boffey, 31, was released from HMP Liverpool on March 24, 2015 to serve the rest of his sentence on licence but has failed to adhere to his licence conditions and was recalled to prison by the Home Office on July 23.

Despite extensive efforts by Merseyside Police to trace him, he remains outstanding and officers are calling for the public's help to find him.

The burglaries involved the gang forcing their way into luxury properties to steal valuables, often when families and children were at home.

Led by mastermind John Bridge and his three sons, John Jnr, Alan and Luke, Boffey helped break in to numerous luxury Warrington addresses, stealing high-end cars and jewellery to the tune of £1.7million and gained more than £110,000 from the criminal enterprise.

During one burglary on February 9, 2009, Boffey served as a getaway driver, waiting outside while his fellow conspirators smashed their way into a home and dragged a man naked from his shower.

Four weeks later he helped steal two top-of-the-range sports cars worth almost £100,000 while a family were out at a pop concert.

Boffey was sentenced to five years and three months for conspiracy to burgle, and six months for failing to surrender by Judge David Hale.
