PUPILS from De La Salle have been helping to deliver winter warmth survival packs for elderly residents.
They joined forces with Age UK Mid Mersey for the campaign for warm homes week which took place from Monday, February 1.
The students helped the organisation distribute the items, funded by St Helens Council, from St Mary’s Market in the town centre last Tuesday (February 2).
Claire Bullock, teacher at De La Salle, said: "The group of students is extremely excited about getting involved and helping their local community.
"We are supporting Age UK Mid Mersey both as part of the Get Set for Community Action and also as part of our Asdan Award Programme.
"The pupils have further plans to raise funds for Age UK Mid Mersey and use these funds to hold a coffee afternoon for local older people at The Mansion House in the spring."
Mark Lunney, chief executive officer at Age UK Mid Mersey added: “Age UK Mid Mersey is delighted to be involved in Get Set for Community Action. The programme provides a wonderful opportunity for older people and younger people to take part in projects."
