FORMER Cowley schoolboy Martin Murray paid a visit to give students some knockout tips.
The Fingerpost super middleweight fighter held a practice session with sixth form students from year 12 who are in the first year of their BTEC Sport qualification, with a new boxing unit having been added to the course.
Martin gave the students practical tips as part of a new module and inspired students to work hard to achieve their goals.
The training took place in Saints' new training facility that’s in the grounds of Cowley Sixth Form and was organised by tutors Laura Finnigan and Dave Llewellyn, who went to school with Martin.
Martin put the students through their paces, giving them tips and allowing them to try a range of techniques.
"David's a good mate of mine and we've stayed good friends and I've done this at other schools in the past too," said Martin, a former British, Commonwealth and WBA interim middleweight champion.
"The students have been great, they'll have a laugh while doing it but they are also getting better."
Laura added: "This has come in a part of their course where they have to do an individual practical part."
