STAFF at Addaction presented the town's emergency services with some tasty thank you treats.

David Lindup, who works as a practitioner at the Addaction drug and alcohol support centre, at Lincoln House on Corporation Street, arranged for three specially-made cakes to be delivered to the emergency services.

The cakes, made by David’s cousins, Kelly and Amy Roberts, are each in the shape of a police car, ambulance van and fire engine.

The cakes were presented at St Helens Community Fire Station on Parr Stocks Road.

“It’s about us giving something back for the services and thank them for the Christmas period,” explained David, 41.

“Everybody’s budget is quite tight and they are still doing an amazing job and it’s to show appreciation.

“It is always better to give than receive. It’s giving something back instead of always taking.

“At Addaction we have a lot of people who have been treated and benefitted from the services in the past.”
