Gas works expected to cause major delays
MOTORISTS are being advised to find alternative routes when essential gas main renewal work starts on Rainford Road (A570), Windle, from Monday August 3.
The stretch of road between Windle Island and its junction with Hard Lane will be subject to two-way temporary traffic lights for a period of four weeks and is likely to cause significant delays, particularly at peak times.
There will be no access to Walton Road from Rainford Road while the work is being carried out by National Grid.
