deary me. We got a bit of a beating in the end didnt we.

I didnt actually know if I was going or not until about 2 on the Saturday. I knew I had the kids that night and also my niece was stopping over too, and with Cardiff coming up in 2 weeks I thought i would give the game a miss and watch it delayed later that night when they had decided to go to bed.

So here I am, watching the first 15 minutes of the sky build up and then turning the tv over. Also turning my mobile off as well so as not to get anyone sending me updates. Got to admit though I feared the worst when I found out on Sky, that Gidley, Gardner, and Gilmour were all out and we had an un recognisable back row and second row partnership. So it was for this reason our game of Touch rugby international on the field outside was called off at 6.45pm, as paranoia set in, with thoughts in my head of a beating, and also thoughts of " well i may as well watch the first half to see if it is worth watching the rest later " also setting in...

So the game went on half an hour later courtesy of my Sky plus, and what a first half it was with the Saints actually winning at half time. But I also said to Rachel and Natalie ( my daughter and niece ) that surely we would run out of steam in the second half. But the touch rugby was resurrected at half time, and if we did lose when I watched it very late on, at least it wouldnt have spoiled my whole night.

Had a great night and kept thinking " wonder what the score was etc etc " So when I did eventually get round to watching the second half, it came as no great surprise to see us getting a bit of a stuffing in the end. At least I could just go straight to bed to get over it....

However what puts our great game into perspective is the game that really mattered this weekend and that was the Steve Prescott benefit game. A big well done to everyone involved, and good luck to Steve himself......
