A HAIR stylist has proved herself to be a cut above the rest after being shortlisted to take part in the bootcamp phase of a prestigious competition.
Helen Sheron, 23, who works at Shimmers Hair Salon, on Boundary Road, will enjoy working for high-profile fashion shoots for top hair magazines and going backstage for London Fashion Week after earning her place as one of only 10 stylists across the country in Tigi's Inspirational Youth Team 2015.
She will also get to be mentored by some of her idols in The Tigi Creative Team including Nick Irwin, global creative director of Tigi, Maria Kovacs, European session director and Tigi founder Anthony Mascolo.
Helen, from Grange Park, was entered into the competition by boss Shimmers owner Lynne Webster and was astonished when she learned she'd been shortlisted.
Helen, a former St Helens College student, said: "A letter came saying congratulations, you have been chosen. It was a good job there was no clients in at the time because I was literally screaming.
"I rang my family and my partner and Lynne was crying over in Spain when she found out," added Helen, who specialises in Indian bridal hair and submitted video clip of demonstrating the art as part of her competition entry.
"To say I am delighted is an understatement, my mentoring by Tigi is going to be awesome."
If Helen gets passed Boot Camp she will perform live on stage at Salon International London on Monday, October 12 in front of a packed audience.
