A WOMAN has been given a suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty to possession of a stun gun.
Appearing at St Helens Magistrates' Court Samantha Benson, 32, from Sidney Street in Newtown was jailed for 12 weeks suspended for a year after being found in possession of a Night Watchman stun gun.
She was placed under supervision for 12 months and was told to pay a total of £165 which will be deducted from her benefits. The court also made an order that the stun gun be handed over and destroyed by police.
