COWLEY pupils, parents and teachers all stood the heat of the kitchen to take part in a healthy cooking challenge.

The school's cooking challenge got more than 130 people involved as part of the national Let’s Get Cooking BIG Cookathon contest.

Along with members of the community, the school's students, staff and parents all cooked up some tasty treats.

Karis Mason, the school’s Let’s Get Cooking coordinator, said: “Cooking healthy food together in one place is not only beneficial to the participants who learn about preparing and cooking a healthy meal from scratch, but it’s also about bringing the local community together for a great cause, and that’s what the BIG Cookathon is all about.

Led by the School Food Trust, Let’s Get Cooking aims to provide training, resources and support to help set up healthy cooking programs for people of all ages.
