DETECTIVES have issued CCTV stills in a fresh appeal over an unprovoked attack in a town centre bar which left a man unconscious.
Police want to speak to this man in connection with an assault at the Green Room on Duke Street just before 2am on Saturday, February 14.
Detective Constable Steve Kellett said: “This appears to be a completely unprovoked attack, which could have had tragic consequences. Fortunately his condition is not thought to be serious, but he did sustain injuries to his jaw, mouth and nose, which will require follow-up treatment.
“The offender is described as a white man in his late 40s early 50s, about 5ft 11 inches tall, has a receding hairline and was wearing a shirt underneath a jumper. He left the bar following the incident with a woman of a similar age. She is described as having long brown hair and was wearing trousers and a blouse.
“I would like to appeal to this man in the picture, or anyone who may know who he is, to please contact me.”
A 47-year-old man was taken to Whiston Hospital and discharged later that day.
Anyone who has any information, or who witnessed this incident is asked to call Detective Constable Kellett on 0151 777 6816 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
