TWO Harlem Globetrotters players dropped in to Bleak Hill Primary School to give pupils a fun treat to spread an anti-bullying message.

Slick Willie Shaw and Firefly Fisher gave the youngsters a talk on The ABCs of Bullying Prevention as well showing off their ball-manoeuvring magic and invited the children to try out some tricks themselves.

“This is the best part of my job to get the chance to spread a positive message with the kids,” said Slick.

“We all know bullying is a big problem and it’s great to spread a message and have fun at the same time.”

The Americans are travelling around the UK to promote their tour, which visits Liverpool next year.

Bleak Hill won the chance to have Slick and Firefly at their school after entering a competition.

Bleak Hill head teacher Ian Wellens said: “The morning went really well and the children have thoroughly enjoyed the assembly.

“They’ve been entertained and given an important message as well.

“The players were exceptional in how they spoke to the children and their skills are exceptional too.”
