WHAT is the eminent Lord Prescott up to now? Once known as John with two Jags, he’s saving the planet (bless him).
Undaunted, the good Lord has jetted where no one has gone before, spreading the gospel on climate change and lobbying governments on cutting carbon emissions.
Good for him!
But these Earth savers don’t practise what they preach. Lord Prescott has clocked 40,000 air miles in six months — so much for his carbon footprint.
Well, it beats doing it by computer; he can blind them with his oratory, (mainly rubbish) like suggesting India do away with oil lamps and install solar panels in rural areas without access to electricity.
This is a nation that still receives aid from the UK, where millions struggle to put food on the table. So who’s paying?
Solar heating is expensive to install, and maintain. It’s also unreliable and patronising to the poor people, who should be electrified like the rest of us.
We know all about saving energy we have the EU watching over us, another lot fluent in tripe!
While the world teeters on the brink of war, pestilence, and terrorism on our doorstep, they are more concerned about cracking down on us using high-wattage electrical appliances. Go, and tell it to the super powers, the worst offenders who don’t care about carbon emissions.
To our masters in Brussels, keep your mitts off our kettles.
As a nation of tea drinkers, it’s what gets us out of bed in a morning, we don’t function without a cuppa at regular intervals.
