EXTRA community cycle rides are being rolled out due to what St Helens Council describes as “popular demand”.

The rides, in partnership with BikeRight, will run on Saturday mornings from Sankey Valley and on Thursday evenings at Taylor Park.

Rides are aimed at over 16s. Bikes, helmets and hi-visibilty vests are provided and everything is free of charge

Saturday sessions are a 9.45am meet for a 10am start at Sankey Valley Heritage Visitor Centre Car Park, off Blackbrook Road.

Thursdays are 5.45pm for a 6pm start. Cyclists should meet at Taylor Park Cycle Hub, opposite the Boat House Cafe, Taylor Park, Grosvenor Road.

The routes are a mix of on-road and off-road to build confidence.
