THE M62 is being reopened in both ways at Birchwood following a serious accident.

The road was shut in both directions after a crash involving two lorries and a car.

One lorry ended up on the other side of the road.

Police say none of the drivers have life threatening or life changing injuries.

It happened between junction 10 for the M6 at Croft and junction 11 at Birchwood around 6pm.

Both sides of the road were closed while the air ambulance attended and traffic was affected in both directions.

But one lane in both directions is now being opened.
