WHEN the Liverpool Giants pound their way through the city in a spectacular show they will be helped on their way by a St Helens firm.

Speedy will provide the electricity at the rehearsal site along with lighting and lifting equipment used to power the giants and other props for the event.

Thousands of people are expected to descend on Liverpool between Wednesday, July 23 and Sunday, July 27.

The Newton-le-Willows based company will provide 27 generators and two fuel tanks that will power certain elements.

what has a dog a girl and an old woman that have all been seen before, got to do with the millions that died in the great war?
every other city in the country did not wish to do anything but have a commemorative service, only LIVERPOOL could turn it into a money grabbing fun for all,is it only me that thinks it is in bad taste to have kids laughing and joking at a puppet dog,is that what the dead will be remembered for,or for the ring of the cash registers in the fast food outlets and bars in the city, its a disgrace.

We will get caned for saying so keepitreel by the "don't be a misery - you would spoil Christmas if you could" brigade but I totally agree with you.

Too many died in the Great War and the only way to commemorate their sacrifice is with dignity and respect. Have giant puppets by all means but do not try to associate them with remembering the war.
