ARDENT rugby fans will be out in force at Haydock Park on Saturday willing Steve Prescott on to a maiden race victory.

For Rainford racehorse owner and Salford Red Devils boss Dr Marwan Koukash’s two year-old named after St Helens rugby league legend the late Steve Prescott will be carrying the colours of the world of rugby league when it makes its debut at the Live Music at the Races meeting.

As a sporting gesture Haydock Park Racecourse is offering season ticket holders from all rugby league clubs a half-price discount on admission with two Tattersalls tickets for £27.50 giving access to racing and to the 80s concert after the race programme.

Season tickets must be shown at the gate to take advantage of the offer.

Nice gesture, it keeps the legend that is Steve Prescott in the public eye and is another fitting tribute to an extremely brave lad from St.Helens.
