Two old instruments at St Helens library
7:10am Sunday 4th May 2014 in News
BALLET dancing is about to be performed among the book shelves at the Central Library.
The Ballet in Small Spaces dance company presents ballet-based work in unconventional spaces and will perform in St Helens on Saturday, May 17.
Head of Libraries Sue Williamson said, “We are really delighted that as part of the Cultural Hubs project, we can invite top notch performers. We can put this on at such a low cost, that we hope lots of people will come along to try something new.
“It should be a fantastic experience and supplements the extensive programme of activities that our libraries offer.”
There are two performances and tickets can be reserved by calling 01744 677087 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Tickets are free but people will be asked to contribute what they can afford.
The first show at 2pm will be a short, family performance and talk – an informative and interactive mixture of music and dance with an opportunity to ask questions.
The 5pm performance will be an intimate evening of music and dance with top performers and an unusual repertoire. ‘Two Old Instruments’ is an Arts Council England funded project that aims to increase the amount and quality of arts delivered in St Helens libraries.
