EMERGENCY services attend Haydock Island following a three car crash in these dramatic photos taken by Star reader Keith Boulton.
No one was seriously injured in the incident just after 1.20pm at the spot which has seen a number of incidents in the last few months.
Three people were out of the vehicles by the time the emergency services arrived.
Despite the dramatic scenes a 60-year-old man walked free from his upturned Nissan Quashqai. A 37-year-old woman who was in a Ford S-Max suffered suspected injuries to her shoulder and leg and was taken to St Helens Walk-in Centre. And a 50 year-old man in a Volvo suffered a slight injury and shock and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Fire crews were at the scene for just over half an hour.
