MORE dogs stand a better chance of being reunited with their owners if they go missing after a successful microchipping event.
The council’s Dog Welfare team visited King George V Park in Thatto Heath where they performed the painless procedure on 72 pooches as part of the Springwatch campaign.
From 2016 all dogs in England must be microchipped making it easier for strays to be identified.
The next event in St Helens will take place at Queens Park on Boundary Road between 11am and 3.30pm on Friday, May 2.
If you can’t get along the dog wardens provide a home visiting service costing £10.
