VOLUNTEERS are being sought for a major international business festival that is heading to the town’s doorstep later this year.
Organisers of the International Festival for Business are seeking 1,000 volunteers to welcome businesses to the city region as part of Liverpool’s bid to become the first UK city to achieve the prestigious WorldHost accreditation.
The festival is being hosted by Liverpool and the city region on behalf of the UK over 50 days in June and July.
It is expected to attract thousands of extra visitors to more than 180 events at more than 70 city region venues, including St Helens' World of Glass, which is set to host a session specialising in Advanced Manufacturing on July 7.
Steve Fraser, managing director of operations at United Utilities, said: “IFB 2014 can be a real game changer for the region, shining a spotlight on our areas of business excellence, but it’s also about how we engage with the world and an army of passionate volunteers will make a difference now and for years to come.”
